Bailee and the Boo Bears!

This weekend Evan, Kassie and Bailee decided to have a circus (or was it a carnival?). We had Bailee the Amazing Balloon Blower who doubled as the emcee and singer. Then, we had the 2 Rock Stars! Evan played the guiter while Kassie played the keyboard. As we entered the room, we had to get a stamp (backstage passes cost $10). Our oversized chair was the stage with an imaginary curtain around it. Evan and Kassie made us chant 'Rock Stars', 'Rock Stars' before they would come out. They gave several very funny performances! They would get started and then decide they needed to start all over again. So back into Evan's room they would go while we chanted for them to come out AGAIN. They were so excited to perform but lost interest fairly quickly as you can see from the video.

Are They Really Twins?

Seriously! Do these two really look a like? OK, I admit there is a strong similiarity here, and in our early marriage days I might have mistaken Patrick for Mike. But seriously? What do you think?

Happy Birthday, Jax!

Today was our nephew Jax's birthday party at House of Wheels. Evan has only been roller skating one other time and spent more time on the carpet than the rink. I think she did a little better this time. She started out hanging onto the rail and then decided it would be better to hold my hand. Before too long, she told me to leave her by herself on the rink. Only too happy to oblige, I left and watched from the sidelines. Cousin Rylie helped her for a while, but then I was summoned. We made it around the rink once and then spent time on the carpet. I think she had the best time running around the rink in her socks!! At least she got to spend time with her cousins, aunts, uncle and grandparents.

Date Night

Mike and I had date night with some of our friends. Evan got to stay at home with her friends and neighbors, Kassie and Bailee, while Heather babysat all three. All three girls adore Heather. They had a great time! Julie (my neighbor and good friend who can take the credit for encouraging me to start a blog) got out her camera to get some blog material. Well, I could not be outdone, so I had to do the same! I took one picture which came out pretty good, I think.

Evan and Sara Beth

Evan's swim teacher is leaving soon for Louisiana Tech, so tonight was her last lesson. She has done so well and loves going to swim with Sara Beth! Sara Beth is a great sport and even took Evan to see her room. For some reason Evan just had to see it. She told me that they were going to have a sleepover and play games on Sara Beth's computer (Sara Beth knew nothing about this sleepover!). Anyway, Evan wanted to get her a Build-A-Bear with a swimsuit, cap, and goggles as a going-away present. Evan's bear had to have the same outfit. Don't they look cute?

When the Pipers Play

While I was in Chicago, Mike and Evan went to a bagpipe concert given by Alfred Barrow, Mike's bagpipe teacher. Afterwards, Alfred, his brother Seth, and Mike all played together. This was the first time they had all three played together, and Mike really enjoyed it. They did a great job!

Water Day!

I had to go to Chicago for a conference and was gone the last 4 days, so I took off today to spend some time with Evan. She had Water Day at school, so I went to take pics. She and her friend Emma were having a great time! Evan got so dirty because the outlet for the slide was also the drain. Everytime she would go down the slide, she would have to jump off and into the mud. At one point, she ended up with mud all over her face, chest, bathing suit and legs. After Water Day we went to Build-A-Bear so she could make the leopard she's been dying for (we've been using this one for a bribe). I guess we now have to find something else to bribe her with!! She named her bear Selecia - I hvae no idea where she heard that name, but she LOVES it! By the time we got home, though, she had renamed her Cat.
